The Vicki Torr Memorial Fund - which underwrites the Emerging Artist Prize - was established in 1993 as a memorial to Australian glass artist Vicki Torr (1949-1992). Its purpose is to reflect Vicki’s life and work by encouraging excellence in Australian studio glass.

The Prize highlights the creativity, competence and artistry that we have in early-career artists within Australia.

The Emerging Artist Prize is a cash prize of $1,500.

This prize is open to emerging* artists who are living in Australia. (*those with professional experience up to five years, including students.)

Entries for the 2022 prize competition are seen on the competition gallery page (here). [UNAVAILABLE FOR THE MOMENT]

The winning entry was peer-selected, with the Prize awarded on the basis of the highest number of votes cast by Ausglass members.

This year’s prize-winner is Madeline Cardone, announced at the 2022 Ausglass AGM, held 22 October 2022, in Wagga Wagga. Congratulations, MADELINE!!
