Ausglass has an active system of State Representatives. There is at least one for every State and Territory, and a few even have responsibilities that span state boundaries. Some States have a pair of representatives to share the workload.

The State Reps are key communication links between the actvities of the Board of Directors and Ausglass nationally, and the members. For example they may highlight matters in Ausglass' conference planning. They also have resposnsibilities to create a sense of community within their state, for example by interpreting and highlighting important local news through emails, organizing meetings and exhibitions, monitoring what is happening in the State. Within this complex mix of volunteer duties, they also feed back to Ausglass nationally on the activities, galleries, exhibitions and other State and Territory specific issues. The State Rep produces a quarterly report for the Newsletter on the glass activity of the State. State Reps are also the first point of contact for member queries, and for recruiting new members.

These volunteers deserve a great deal of respect for the job they take on, and their key role in the Ausglass organization. It is a vital one. One member of the Board has the job of liaising with the State Reps, to signify their importance, and they were invited to attend a recent meeting of the Boiard of Directors to better understand where Ausglass is going.
