The Prize
The Ausglass Vicki Torr Online Gallery Prize of A$1,000 per year will be awarded by Ausglass to an eligible contemporary glass practitioner, who is an emerging artist whose work has been included in the Ausglass Online Gallery and which is judged by Ausglass Members to be the best in that year.
The purpose for the prize is to encourage emerging artists to increase their public profile by placing their one page curriculum vitae and photographic examples of their work in the Ausglass Online Gallery.
The secondary purpose of the prize is to increase the numbers of glass artists displaying their work in the Ausglass Online Gallery and thus increasing the likelihood of Australian and overseas galleries and collectors using the Ausglass site as a reference point and a means of keeping abreast of glass art in Australia thus benefiting all glass artists not just emerging artists.
Another benefit for glass artists who exhibit in the Ausglass Online Gallery is that their photographs will be randomly selected and displayed on the Ausglass homepage each time a visitor accesses the homepage.
Eligibility
To be eligible to win the prize:
A person must be an emerging artist;
A person must have placed photographic examples of their work and their one page curriculum vitae on the Ausglass Online Gallery by 15 December in the financial year in which the prize is determined;

Winners of the Ausglass Vicki Torr Online Gallery Prize in one year will not be eligible to enter the competition in subsequent years. Winners will remain eligible for the separate Vicki Torr Memorial Prize.

Eligible glass artists will enhance their chances of winning the prize if they ensure that the quality of photography is high. The curriculum vitae should not exceed one A4 size page and should accurately reflect the achievements of the emerging artist.

Emerging Artists
For the purposes of the prize an emerging artist will be regarded as a person who has five or less years of professional experience. Students with five or less years of professional experience are also eligible for the prize and are encouraged to participate in the Ausglass Online Gallery.
Voting
The Ausglass Board will determine which members exhibiting in the Ausglass Online Gallery qualify as emerging artists on or before 20 December in the financial year in which the prize is determined and members will be made aware of the candidates via the members@ausglass.org.au e-mail system as to which members are eligible for the prize.
