Reception at Government House
Government House, Hobart
Friday 16 January - 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

This function is included in the full registration fee, provided it is paid by 3 November 2008. Full delegates who have paid by then may also book a ticket for their partner. Official invitations will be sent from Government House, and the event is hosted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania and Mrs Underwood.

You can't miss this. The Government House Ballroom, where the Reception will be held, is visually stunning. The dress codes is lounge suit (tie optional) and day dress. We'll lay on a bus to Government House for those without their own transport, and bring you back to Sullivan's Cove afterwards.

Salamanca Market and Gallery Hop
Sullivan's Cove, Salamanca Place precinct, and if desired North Hobart galleries
Saturday 17 January, 9:00am - 1:00pm

Visit the famous Saturday market for craft, memorabilia or collectibles. Visit the Salamanca Place art and craft galleries, including many special glass art exhibitions. A guide to Salamanca will be included in your registration pack. Include a visit to the 30th Anniversary Ausglass Exhibition at the Carnegie Gallery if you haven't seen it yet. If desired, take a taxi or bus to North Hobart and vist the art galleries there. Return to the School of Art for afternoon Conference presentations and demonstrations.

Derwent Estauary Cruise on the MV Cartela

This event is included in the full registration fee. Full registrants can purchase an additional ticket for a partner for $44, and day registrants may purchase a ticket also.

The MV Cartela is the oldest continuously licensed passenger vessel in Australia. Built in 1912 in Battery Point, Hobart, she can carry up to 250 persons. The event will be marked by dance and music by Johnny & the Hurricanes. This will be the usual fun event with plenty of opportunity for networking, and marks the end of the Conference.
